Getting Started

The ideal substrate is a clean, level floated concrete surface.

Physically lay out the tiles on the surface to be tiles to confirm that the ideal result is going to be achieved.

  1. Mix the adhesive into a paste as per manufacturers instructions
  2. Apply with a notched trowel (10mm) a full bed of adhesive
  3. Lay the tile into the 10mm grooved adhesive bed and tamp with a mallet into place
  4. Check for level and line. This can be done by running your hand to and fro over the previously laid tiles
  5. Insert spacer to create a uniform gap
  6. Scrape out the excess adhesive between tiles, to save on adhesive
  7. Clean each laid tile with a wet sponge if there is any adhesive on the tile, to avoid staining
  8. Allow to dry for 24hrs before grouting. The tiles are now dry, clean and free of adhesives and salts
