Getting Started
The ideal substrate is a clean, level floated concrete surface.
Physically lay out the tiles on the surface to be tiles to confirm that the ideal result is going to be achieved.
- Mix the adhesive into a paste as per manufacturers instructions
- Apply with a notched trowel (10mm) a full bed of adhesive
- Lay the tile into the 10mm grooved adhesive bed and tamp with a mallet into place
- Check for level and line. This can be done by running your hand to and fro over the previously laid tiles
- Insert spacer to create a uniform gap
- Scrape out the excess adhesive between tiles, to save on adhesive
- Clean each laid tile with a wet sponge if there is any adhesive on the tile, to avoid staining
- Allow to dry for 24hrs before grouting. The tiles are now dry, clean and free of adhesives and salts
